Part One: Defending Colorado Springs Together

What matters is services delivered

The article that ran is Sunday's Gazette presents, in my opinion, a very unbalanced account of the great work done by CST in support of Mountain Shadows. While we all agree that there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done, it is, in my opinion, incredible what has happened in 13 months. We all want our community back as soon as possible, and we are getting there.

While the majority of your article was tough to read, one item I was stunned to see was the question about the "storefront" location. You were kidding, right? The location of CST was perfect. Easily accessible to residents and by placing it where it was, it was clear CST was there to help. Different HOAs, that have a great deal to work through have been able to keep meeting at a location very close to their neighborhoods. The Mountain Shadows Community Association (MSCA) had a place to meet and continue to be connected to community. Different community building activities have been held there, and the proximity of the facility to the community helped with some of the healing. Location means everything and the location was perfect. A "storefront" doesn't matter, what matters is what services are being delivered.

It is disappointing that you decided to run this article with the slant you did. Balanced reporting would have served you better. Unfortunately you have opted to support the adage that "no good deed goes unpunished." The work put into this community by Bob Cutter and countless others should be celebrated. You missed that part, which is a tremendous shame.
