Recipe Contest for Community Cookbook

Amy Blanchard, a local special education middle school teacher, left her family recipes in her home when she was evacuated during the Waldo Canyon Fire. Although Amy didn't lose her home, her good friend, along with hundreds of other families, did. Amy realized that the sentimental recipes that provide a sense of comfort to her, were now lost to many others. Wanting to help in a way that would have been meaningful to her, Amy asked friends and family to email her with their favorite recipes. The response was overwhelming and Amy was able to publish Community Ties: Recipes for Rebuilding.

At Colorado Springs Together: The Center, we can't seem to keep the cookbook in stock. It keeps selling out! Amy generously donates all profits from her $35 recipe book to Colorado Springs Together to benefit the Mountain Shadows community directly. If you would like a copy of the book, you can pick it up from The Center (address below), at Maria's Tailor Shop, or at Holmes Middle School.

Due to the hugely positive feedback about her original recipe book, Amy is now working on Volume II. If you would like to participate in her Volume II recipe contest, please submit your recipe by March 14, 2013. If you lost your favorite recipe in the fire, feel free to submit a partial recipe and indicate that it needs further research. The winner of the recipe contest will receive a complimentary copy of Community Ties: Recipes for Rebuilding Volumes I and II.

To submit a special recipe with a short description of what the recipe means to you, please choose one of the following options:
