Mountain Shadows Waldo Canyon Fire Memorial
Colorado Springs Together has helped the Mountain Shadows neighborhood establish a committee for the purpose of designing and implementing a memorial in the community. In addition, the committee will determine where the memorial will be placed and the logistics of presenting the memorial to the community. The memorial will serve as a reflective reminder for our community of the Waldo Canyon Fire event, and will serve to:
- honor the memory of those who lost their lives
- acknowledge the loss of homes and property
- pay tribute to those who served and protected
- show the passion and spirit behind the restoration of our community
Work on the committee will involve exploring ideas for the type of memorial as well as seeking community-wide input.
