Free Trees Still Available Until Friday!

In case you missed the previous free tree announcement, it's not too late. The City Forestry-sponsored program has not been fully subscribed and applications are still being accepted. To have a chance for a free tree (including planting), please follow the instructions outlined in the original announcement which is presented below. Applications must be received by Friday, March 29, so please hurry!

Colorado Springs Together thanks Becky Lamphear of Colorado Springs Forestry Division for helping organize a great opportunity for homeowners in the Waldo Canyon Fire burn area.

Colorado State Forest Service, Colorado Tree Coalition: ReForest Colorado, and the City of Colorado Springs Forestry Division have granted funds to purchase a limited number of trees to be planted in residents' front yards. Applications will be approved on a first come, first served basis. Applicants must have the ability to water the trees and protect the trees if the home is still under construction.

Trees will be planted by volunteers on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in conjunction with City of Colorado Springs Arbor Day Celebration. Tree recipients must be home on that day in order to greet the volunteers and provide the exact planting location. Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 29.

Click here to download and print the application for further details.
