Will our renewed sense of community continue?
Now, more than ever, the community connections in Mountain Shadows are strong. Since June 26, 2012, residents of Mountain Shadows have been deeply engaged in the restoration of our wonderful neighborhood. Much more needs to be done, but we have so much to celebrate! Now is the time to set the course for a vibrant community and a successful future... together!
What is happening to Colorado Springs Together?
Colorado Springs Together (CST), the citizen-led initiative to facilitate and coordinate the recovery of Mountain Shadows will be winding down its activities beginning mid-year in line with the results from what can only be described as an amazing recovery and restoration process.
Colorado Springs Together: The Center is planned to close in July. The organization's focus will remain and the team meetings will continue in another locale through the end of the year. CST will continue to support the website and the community emails of useful information.
As we enter into 2014, we will see the magnitude of the recovery process decrease substantially. Colorado Springs Together focused on recovery; Mountain Shadows needs to focus on community.
How will Mountain Shadows do this?
The Mountain Shadows Community Association (MSCA) is not an HOA and is not a replacement for a HOA. MSCA is a group of neighbors working hard to build a stronger sense of community across the whole of Mountain Shadows – all 1700+ home sites. MSCA plans to take its activity to the next level and provide regular important communication to the neighborhood and help coordinate neighborhood resources for special events and activities. This will be achieved by taking successes from the past, some initiatives from Colorado Springs Together, and emulating some of the successes of other community organizations like the Old North End Neighborhood (ONEN) association.

Colorado Springs Together is a community-driven volunteer effort, and is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The team members are distinguished citizens, business professionals and dedicated public servants in the community, facilitating and coordinating a quick and effective rebuilding process for the neighborhoods devastated on June 26, 2012, by the Waldo Canyon Fire.
