FEMA Community Meeting

In an effort to keep the Mountain Shadows community updated on all current events relating to the Waldo Canyon Fire restoration efforts, we would like to inform you about a FEMA Community Meeting to discuss flood risks and insurance. Further details are provided below. In order to ensure that all residents are aware of the meeting, we encourage you to share this information with your friends and neighbors.

Community Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Flood and Other Risks and the National Flood Insurance Program

Through partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management, and the Colorado Springs Marriott, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office wishes to announce a COMMUNITY MEETING scheduled for:

Key discussion items presented during the meeting will include area risks as a result of the Waldo Canyon Fire (floods, landslides, rock falls, and mudflows), the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and a demonstration of a relevant interactive map which is available to the public. In addition to the agencies mentioned above, members from the City of Colorado Springs Engineering Division, Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) team and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be available to answer questions as needed.
