Part Two: Waldo Canyon Fire Recovery Assistance

We are in the middle of an email series answering frequently asked questions about sources of recovery assistance:

  1. Small Business Administration (SBA)
  2. Pike Peak Region Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG)
  3. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Yesterday's email discussed SBA as a resource. The deadline for applying for SBA assistance for home loans is October 9th, 2012. You can read that email here.

In today's email, we will focus on the purpose of the Pikes Peak Region Long Term Recovery Group.

Question:
Where should I go to get recovery support?

Answer:
Homeowners who need assistance for rebuilding, deductible payments or other repair related expenses should contact the SBA before the October 9th loan application deadline.

If the SBA cannot meet your unmet needs, we would advise you to contact the Pikes Peak Region Long Term Recovery Group. Their mission is to provide recovery services to individuals and families affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire.

The LTRG represents approximately 30 non-profits, volunteer, and faith-based organizations. The group has identified several areas of need including: financial and income assistance, housing, child care, mental health, spiritual care, assistance for the disabled, small business recovery, disaster case management, and communications.

Case Managers are available by appointment to meet with individuals to help them prepare a confidential and individualized Long Term Recovery Plan.

You may contact the LTRG at 719-884-6180 or email them at CaseManagement-cs@lfsrm.org to set up an appointment.
