Hellscream Halloween Event

Hellscream Haunted House is hosting a special Trick or Treat night. The haunted house is organized each year by a Mountain Shadows family, one of whom lost his home in the fire. This year, they reserved a special evening for all the kids and families who were, or continue to be, affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire.

When:

October 31, 2012
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Where:

4705 Centennial Blvd.
Colorado Springs CO 80919

Just North of Garden of the Gods and Centennial, by Marigolds and Texas T-Bone. Look for the giant search light!

What:

The haunted house is divided into a series of smaller structures within the building. There will be a mayor’s office, curiosity shop, dentist’s office, schoolhouse, butcher, mortuary, graveyard, haunted house, circus, jail and swamp. The kids will be able to walk though the normal path of the haunt, collecting candy at each location. The organizers will do their best to make this as non scary as possible, but expect that some kids will not be able to make it through. However, there will be ample opportunities for children to opt out early, and still receive their share of candy.

Cost:

Free, and open only to those affected by the fire. Additionally, to those whose houses are listed as damaged or destroyed on the official list, bring your ID for two free tickets to the haunt (including November 2nd and 3rd, though not valid Fridays and Saturdays). Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado will also be there to distribute boxes of non-perishable food and water.

Appropriate Ages:

The doors are open to children 16 and under for a safe trick or treating event. All of the lights will be turned on, and all of the props will be turned off so the kids can trick or treat inside of the haunt.

Please be aware…this might still be very scary for younger kids or for particularly sensitive kids. Some special needs children may be older, but would be discomforted by something like this.
