Burnt Trees: From Disaster to Design
Tree removal and vegetation restoration is well underway and great progress is being made! We have learned of several interesting things happening with the burnt trees.
Colorado Rock*N Logs, Inc. (a small local business whose owner has a long history of working in the area's forests), is reaching out those who lost their homes by presenting each family with a unique commemorative sculpture—an 8" pyramid-shaped, branded piece of timber burnt in the Waldo Canyon Fire. His gesture in providing the decorative piece is heart-felt and is aimed to provide affected residents with a commemorative keepsake made from the trees that were burned in the destructive fire.
Colorado Rock*N Logs is also harvesting larger pieces of burned timber from the Mountain Shadows neighborhoods to design modern furnishings for a new line of hand-crafted log furniture, called Waldo Canyon Collection–From Disaster to Design.
If you are interested in learning more about how your burned timber can be turned into furniture, go to www.WaldoCanyonCollection.com.
Colorado Springs Together does not endorse Colorado Rock*N Logs nor its products, but we believe some folks might be more interested in this endeavor than in turning their trees to mulch.
