Mountain Shadows Community Association: Building Community

The Mountain Shadows Community Association, along with several other Mountain Shadows HOAs, has been a critical and essential part of the Colorado Springs Together initiative from the very start. Below is an update from the new President of the MSCA, Eddie Hurt.

Dear Residents,

Mountain Shadows Community Association (MSCA) is in the midst of great change. It is exciting to report many new initiatives have begun which we think the neighborhood will find are relevant and valuable.

First of all, the leadership of MSCA has changed. With a new President, Vice President, Treasurer, 6 long-standing members, and 6 new members since July 1st, the MSCA Board of Directors has an incredible mix of experience, expertise and new energy. Each member has a passion for our neighborhood and is committed to ensuring Mountain Shadows is an even better community than it was before the fire. We have also had the benefit of being part of Colorado Spring Together (CST) from which we have learned many new lessons and ideas.

Current MSCA activities include:

  • an outreach effort across the entire neighborhood thus expanding our membership including all HOAs and Filings
  • providing neighbors the information they want and/or need
  • coordinating clubs or groups of neighbors in an effort to build community
  • revamping how we support filings in terms of covenants, safety and future development
  • developing an on-going plan which addresses continued restoration projects
  • delivering interesting events the entire neighborhood

We hope you will consider helping us as we rebuild Mountain Shadows. Not only are we looking to build our membership, but we would also enjoy having you as a volunteer. What better way to show your support, than to volunteer your valuable time, investing it to make Mountain Shadows an even greater community.

For more information about MSCA, please go to our website at www.mscaweb.com.

All the best,

Eddie Hurt
MSCA President
