AspenPointe Teams with Colorado Springs Together

Rebuilding more than homes

AspenPointe, a highly valued, longtime member of the Colorado Springs nonprofit community, is providing assistance and support at no cost to those recovering from the Waldo Canyon Fire as they rebuild their homes and lives.

After a traumatic event, you may have a wide range of normal responses. These responses can be physical reactions such as headaches, backaches, stomach aches, change in sleep patterns and appetite or they can be emotional reactions such as fear and or anxiety, irritability, restlessness, outbursts of anger, nightmares, or diminished interest in everyday activities or depression.

To assist residents through their personal responses, AspenPointe offers the Waldo Support Team to the community. The Waldo Support Team is a group of community crisis counselors working in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through AspenPointe to support the community by working toward restoring peace of mind by providing the community with resources, as well as emotional and behavioral support.

The Waldo Support Team provides individuals with helpful coping strategies to restore peace of mind. The services offered are a collaborative effort, complimentary and confidential. Services offered by the support team can be in the form of:

  • Individual Meetings
  • Group Discussions
  • Assistance with locating community resources

Please visit one of the members of the Waldo Support Team members at the Colorado Springs Together Center located at 6840 Centennial Blvd., Suite A Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
