Non-Profits Directly Helping Waldo Canyon Fire Victims

The Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance Fund, administered by Pikes Peak United Way, is intended to address near-term and intermediate needs of El Paso and Teller County residents impacted by the Waldo Canyon Fire. Disbursement of approved grant funds is to organizations (not individuals) directly assisting those residents impacted by the fire. To date, the Assistance Fund has made 14 grants totaling $624,941. Six organizations received a combined $116,816 as reimbursement for services provided during and immediately after the fire. The following eight organizations have received grants to provide ongoing intermediate term services to victims of the Waldo Canyon Fire.
Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountain ($126,798) has two full-time case workers to assist fire victims with the creation of long-term recovery plans and to help connect them with the proper agencies to meet their needs.
