Consider Purchasing a Flood Insurance Policy

Given the heavy rains last night, we just want to remind everyone that the Mountain Shadows community and all other Waldo Canyon Fire burn regions are at heightened risk of flooding. As we experienced yesterday evening, we're now in the monsoon season, and the elevated risk of flooding will remain an ongoing concern.

According to FEMA, "Floods are the number one natural disaster in the United States in terms of lives lost and property damaged."

Consider purchasing flood insurance as soon as possible since FEMA has waived the normal 30-day waiting period. Please read this FEMA announcement for details and restrictions.

Flood insurance was the topic of FEMA's community meeting held on 7/23/12, which we announced in a previous community email and on our website.
