Community Christmas Tree Will Be Planted Friday Morning

As a result of the Waldo Canyon Fire, Mountain Shadows lost its community Christmas tree, lit each year as a beacon welcoming the holidays.

Tomorrow morning, a 35-foot replacement tree will be planted, courtesy of GESCO Nursery.

Wilson United Methodist Church
6460 Flying W Ranch Rd.
Colorado Springs, CO 80919

The tree will be planted on the property of Wilson United Methodist Church but will be the neighborhood’s tree. A tree-lighting ceremony is tentatively set for November 30, 2012. More details will be published by the church shortly.

We would like to thank GESCO Nursery and its owner Gerry Student of Franktown, Colorado for their very generous donation of this tree to the Mountain Shadows community and Wilson United Methodist Church.
